We’re lucky in Ballyneale school to be able to walk out the front gate and be amongst beautiful rural countryside. Infants and third and fourth class took part in a nature walk through the village and down a local boithrín and into a family’s field today. We looked out for plants in the hedgerows from bindweed to forget-me-nots, dandelions to docks. We spotted interesting creepy crawlies. After a picnic in the local family’s field we set off back to the school. On the way back Ms. Fogarty gave us a mini history lesson of the village. To finish the day the children used plants they collected to make some nature art. A busy outdoor day today!
