Ballyneale NS endeavours to promote G.A.A. sports – Hurling, Camogie and Gaelic Football.
In co-operation with the G.A.A. Schools Coaching Scheme, qualified coaches visit the school on different days. Classes 3rd – 6th are timetabled for sessions during which they receive instruction on the basic skills of the games and the opportunity to practice and implement these skills in a variety of exercises and games.
School teams, both girls and boys are entered into Cumann na mBunscoil competitions at U.13 and U.11 grades in both hurling and football and have achieved notable successes at all levels reaching the County Final in Roinn F in Gaelic Football in 2011 and winning the Roinn F Cumann na mBunscoil Final in 2013. The Girls U.13 team also reached the Cumann na mBunscoil Co. Final Roinn F in 2012.
We have a fantastic staff who are committed to coaching our young boys and girls during and after school. We are also very appreciative of the voluntary input of parents who assist with coaching and accompany children to matches.
